SRK a good-hearted don in ‘Don 2’

The industry is flying with rumors that Shahrukh’s character in ‘Don 2’ is poles apart from the previous film. In ‘Don 2 - The Chase Continues’, the Bollywood Badshah is essaying the role of the head of an organized crime and drug-dealing family and will not be portrayed negatively.

Speaking of SRK’s role in ‘Don 2’, the producers stated at the press conference on Friday that his character is not of a typical gangster.

Meanwhile, talking about his character in ‘Don 2’, SRK stated, “Don is very, very beautiful behind the dark, mean exterior and you just have to get to know him.”

Incidentally, Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2’ does have elements of style and themes of a Bond film.

Farhan is inspired by Berlin’s architecture
It’s certainly going to be a tight schedule for the cast and crew of ‘Don 2’ in Berlin, as Farhan wanted to shoot the entire film for 45 days in the German capital.

Interestingly, at the press conference in Berlin, Farhan spoke that his inspiration to make the film in the German capital was because he is completely in awe with the architecture of the city.

“When I was here, I was very taken by the architecture of the city. It is a city that represented to me a new world," stated the director, who also revealed that his plan to make the film there happened three years ago.

King Khan awestruck with Berlin
It’s not only Farhan who is mesmerized by the city, even SRK can’t stop singing praises about the city.

The actor, who has a huge fan following in Germany, had openly stated at the press conference that he loves the city.

"I am just happy to be in Berlin. I love it. If you told me to stand up on a tourist bus and dance, I would do it,” stated the Badshah of Bollywood.

"It is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever see... I have been here for two weeks and I don't feel I am working," further added the ‘Don 2’ star.

Top 10 Heroines of Tamil Movies

10. SAMEERA REDDY & POOJA

Sameera Reddy

One movie old and already making waves, Sameera Reddy has got off to a good start. Her pleasing screen presence and excellent chemistry with Suriya has made her presence felt in the industry and the result is a plum offer opposite Ajith. Let's see where she goes from here.

Box Office Successes:

Vaaranam Aayiram - 2008 - Hit

Future Projects:

Asal

Pooja

By now she will be better known as Amsavalli of Naan Kadavul. Her hard working and touching portrayal of the blind beggar has won her quite a few admirers, hopefully some of them will be top flight directors. Her career is poised to take off after the gone few years of quiet releases that were spaced far apart. Things should change in the near future.

Box Office Successes:

Ullam Ketkumae - 2005 - Average
Pattiyal - 2006 - Average
Thambi - 2006 - Average
Naan Kadavul - 2009 - Good opening

9. SNEHA

She must be the most versatile actress in the Tamil film industry at the moment having tried everything from the traditional housewife to the city girl, performance to glamour. She has sailed smoothly for quite a few years now but her career has lacked that added impetus to put her in the top bracket of heroines. No longer the first choice for most of the top heroes of Kollywood, she will have to pull off an ace of a performance to get back into reckoning for higher spots.

Box Office Successes:

Naan Avanillai - 2007 - Average
Pirivom Santhippom - 2008 - Average
Silambattam - 2008 - Average

Future Projects:

Nootrukku Nooru
Achachamundu! Achachamundu!
Aruvadai
Goa
Bhavani IPS

8. NAMITHA

She has never had really prestigious banners or big projects, but in spite of all that she still is quite a significant presence in Kollywood. Most certainly a prime contender for the glamour queen's post in the Tamil film industry, she might also have to consider trying a few 'out of the box' roles to keep all sections of the audience interested. Has got lots of projects lined up including Jaganmohini which is being seen as Namitha's first real chance to prove her acting skills.

Box Office Successes:

Billa - 2007 - Super hit
Naan Avanillai - 2007 - Average
Sandai - 2008 - Average

Future Projects:

Indira Vizha
1977
Thee
Jaganmohini
Kettavan
Jagathalapradhaban

7. REEMA SEN

It is difficult to recollect her last release, it was towards the end of 2006. If she has been able to sustain herself in the top 10 even after close to three years of absence, then that speaks volumes about her. But what one feels about Reema Sen is that she has latent potentials not optimally utilized, mostly due to the lack of regular releases. But, her stringent selectivity might also be working to her advantage, extending her longevity in the industry.

Box Office Successes:

Thimiru - 2006 - Hit
Vallavan - 2006 - Average
Rendu - 2006 - Average

Future Projects:

Aayirathil Oruvan

6. TAMANNA

For a lady who is yet to get her first big hit, this is great progress. Tamanna's first few films were forgettable ventures, not getting her the much needed recognition or mileage to go the distance. But 2009 has begun on a positive note with Padikathavan and with an enviable and impressive list of projects lined up, Kollywood is for her to conquer if things go right.

Box Office Successes:

Kalloori - 2007 - Average
Padikathavan - 2009 - Average

Future Projects:

Ayan
Ananda Tandavam
Raja Rani
Paiyya

5. PRIYAMANI

The 'Muthazhagu' of Paruthiveeran, that is Priyamani's identity card. She proved her potential as an actress with that gem of a role. But after that, the good roles seem to have dried up a bit; or was it a conscious decision taken by the actress to try more commercial projects. Well, her more commercial side has not found as much success as the conscientious actress in her. With Mani Ratnam's Ashokavanam in her kitty, she definitely seems set to delight us further.

Box Office Successes:

Paruthiveeran - 2007 - Blockbuster
Malaikottai - 2007 - Average

Future Projects:

Arumugam
Ninaithale Inikkum
Ashokavanam

4. TRISHA

The svelte lady of Kollywood. She's been around for quite a while now and still going very strong, being one of the most preferred faces to be cast opposite the leading Kollywood stars. There is not much about her that you can find fault with, but there is a definite feeling that she has not been able to convert her experience and huge popularity into box office gold. Her last superhit was Ghilli way back in 2004. But things are definitely looking brighter after the much appreciated Abhiyum Naanum.

Box Office Successes:

Thirupachi - 2005 - Hit
Something Something … - 2006 - Hit
Aaru - 2005 - Average
Abhiyum Naanum - 2008 - Average

Future Projects:

Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya
Sarvam
Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikalam

3. SHRIYA

One of the most wanted heroines of Kollywood these days. People have always been pointing fingers at her acting potential, not without reason. But she more than makes up for all that with her near immaculate looks and dancing skills, she is a pleasure to watch on screen. Sivaji was definitely the highest point of her career, but somehow there is the feeling that she has not been able to make full use of that great launch pad. Also, she has spent some time away from Kollywood trying her hand at Hindi movies which have not worked the way she wanted them to.

Box Office Successes:

Sivaji: The Boss - 2007 - Blockbuster
Thiruvilayadal Arambam - 2006 - Hit

Future Projects:

Kanthaswamy
Thoranai
Jaggubhai
Kutty

2. ASIN

Perhaps the most graceful presence on the Tamil screen at present. Her career got off to a great start with M. Kumaran and something charming in her made her instantly popular. She has been paired with almost all lead actors of the industry, yet has managed to hold on to her own importance in every movie, even when sharing the screen with Kamal Haasan in Dasavatharam. Ghajini was her ticket to real stardom and she has not looked back since. Now, the Hindi Ghajini seems to have taken her away from Kollywood. Her winsome charm is the trump card that she possesses.

Box Office Successes:

Dasavathaaram - 2008 - Blockbuster
Pokkiri - 2007 - Super hit
Ghajini - 2005 - Hit
Varalaru - 2006 - Hit
Vel - 2007 - Hit
Sivakasi - 2005 - Average
Ullam Ketkumae - 2005 - Average

1. NAYANTHARA

She is one lady who discovered the expressway to stardom. After her first appearance on the screen in 2005 with Ayya, her growth has been amazing, being paired with Superstar straightaway geared her growth and what more, she became sort of a mascot for his subsequent films. Gossip mills have given her very selective treatment, keeping her in the news for all kinds of reasons. Her willingness to go the glamour way has also played a part in her mercurial rise. But there is a feeling that she is getting a bit repetitive, relying more on glamour than performances. Needs to reinvent herself.

Box Office Successes:

Chandramukhi - 2005 - Blockbuster
Billa - 2007 - Superhit
Ghajini - 2005 - Hit
E - 2006 - Hit
Yaaradi nee mohini - 2008 - Hit
Ayya - 2005 - Average
Vallavan - 2006 - Average

Future Projects:

Aadhavan

Tom Bosley, Happy Days Dad, Dead at 83

Happy Days

Farewell, Mr. C.

Tom Bosley, who as 1950s Happy Days dad Howard Cunningham was the leading TV dad of the 1970s, has died at his Palm Springs area home, his agent confirmed to E! News. He was 83.

MORE: The death of another TV favorite

On Happy Days, Bosley ran a hardware store, and the Cunningham clan—although he was usually more in charge at the store. His TV charges included Ron Howard, as son Richie, Erin Moran, as daughter Joanie, and Henry Winkler, as Fonzie, the ratings draw who moved into the house.

"We were a make-believe family for 10 years, and like a real family for over 30. He will be so, so missed," Winkler tells E! News.

"Mr. Tom Bosley will be missed by many. He was a great actor, teacher and man," Scott Baio, who played Chachi, yet another regular at the Cunninghams, tweeted today.

According to Palm Spring's Desert Sun, Bosley, who worked long after Happy Days ended in 1984, was set to host a local stage show this coming February.

The passing of Bosley comes just days after that of another legendary TV parent, Barbara Billingsley, who played the mom on Leave It to Beaver.

Kristen Stewart: "I Am Surprised She Is an Actress," Says Jodie Foster

Jodie Foster, Kristen StewartFlorian Seefried/Getty Images; Jon Kopaloff/Filmmagic
Even though Kristen Stewart played her daughter in the Panic RoomJodie Foster never really expected the Twilight star to stay in the business.

It's not that Foster didn't think Stewart was talented or professional, but...

"She's a great person, and I'm not surprised she's gone on to to do great things," Foster told me last night at Elle magazine's Women in Hollywood awards show at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. "But I am surprised she is an actress."

Why?
"I didn't think that's where she was headed," Foster explained. "And even though her mom said, 'No, she really really wants to be an actress,' I felt like, Nah, she won't because she really doesn't have the stereotypical personality."
Meaning Stewart was not all about trying to become famous? "Who does?" Foster said. "Anybody who has a brain doesn't. That tells you how smart Kristen Stewart is."

Foster also revealed she's completed work on The Beaver, the flick she directed and costars in with Mel Gibson. "He's doing great," Foster said of her longtime friend. "And he's wonderful in the film and I can't thank him enough and be grateful enough."

However, the movie still doesn't have a release date. "It's all done," she said. "It was all finished in the last two days, so now we're waiting."

Twilight Facts

The Twilight series has become a phenomenon.  On this website, we will discuss Stephenie Meyer books, New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, Twilight vampires, Twilight stars, and the Twilight series.  We will begin, however, with some Twilight facts and some facts about the main characters in Twilight, Kristen Stewart and Edward Pattinson.

First, the film grossed more than $35 million dollars in only its first day, and then more than $69 million on its first weekend at the box office.

On its first day of release, the Twilight DVD sold more than 7 million units.

There were more than 5,000 actors that applied to become Edward in the film, but Robert Pattinson was chosen for this role.

The script for the movie only took six weeks to finish.

Many critics did not rate the film well and it received a lot of criticism, but the fans loved it.

The first choice for the role of Edward Cullen was actually Henry Cavill, star in the Tudors.

Some of Kristen Stewart's film scenes were completed by a stunt double.

Stephenie Meyer, the author, got her idea for the Twilight series from a dream she had about a vampire that loved a girl but also lusted after her blood at the same time.

While filming the movie, Kristen Stewart turned eighteen years old.

Bella grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and so did the author of the series, Stephenie Meyer.

The first chapter Stephenie Meyer wrote was chapter 13, because it was directly based on her dream.

Kristen Stewart, star of Twilight, was first discovered by an agent when she was only eight years old and she was a star in the Christmas pageant in her elementary school.

Robert Pattinson, the actor who plays Edward Cullen, actually wants to be a rock star.

Meyer was influenced by a number of classics when she wrote the series, including Pride and Prejudice and Romeo and Juliet.

Meyer named a few of the characters from the series the names of ex boyfriends from her past.

Robert Pattinson Facts

Robert Pattinson is an English actor, musician, and model and is best known for his role playing Edward Cullen in Twilight.  His mother, Clare, worked for a modeling agency, while his father, Richard, imported vintage vehicles from the United States.  He started doing amateur theatre with the Barnes Theatre Company.  He began taking on acting roles.  While doing so, he got the attention of an acting agent and began searching for professional roles.

When Pattinson was twelve years old, he started his modeling career.  His career as a model basically ended when he turned 16, as he blamed his lack of work on his more masculine look.

Pattinson enjoys playing the piano and guitar, and he also composes his own music.  He also sings two songs on the Twilight soundtrack, called "Never Think" and "Let Me SIgn."

Pattinson currently lives in Los Angeles.  He says he took a quarter of a Valium in order to relax his nerves before he auditioned for Twilight.  He also admits to smoking.  In 2008, he was named one of the "Sexiest Men Alive" by People magazine.  He does not have a girlfriend and doesn't feel like it would be good in this environment.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart was born in 1990 and is an actress best known for her role as Bella Swan in Twilight and New Moon, but she has also been in the films, Panic Room, Zathura, Adventureland, The Messengers, and In the Land of Women.

Stewart was born in and grew up in Los Angeles, California.  Her father is a stage manager and television producer named John Stewart.  Her mother is a script supervisor originally from Australia.  She has one older brother named Cameron Stewart.  Although she attended school until she was in the seventh grade, she then had to continue her education through correspondence, and she has since completed high school.

When Stewart was eight years old, she began her acting career.  After she played the role of the diabetic daughter of Jodie Foster in Panic Room, she was then given more options.  One of her most critically acclaimed roles was in Speak, which she completed when she was only thirteen years old.  She played the part of Melinda Sordino, who stopped verbal contact after being raped.  Stewart also played roles in Zathura, Fierce People, and In the Land of Women.  She has since completed her role of Bella Swan in Twilight and New Moon.

Kristen Stewart lives in Woodland Hills located in Los Angeles, California.  In 2008, she was dating an actor named Michael Angarano, who was a costar of hers from the movie Speak.  She has also expressed an interest in working and living in Australia, where her mother is from.  She also wants to go to college for literature and become a writer.
